Rita Hayworth’s Cadillac
Once upon a
time Rita Haysworth and her husband Ali Khan visited Paris Auto Salon. Famous
actress instantly fell in love with the car you can see below and although it
was not intended for her or anybody else (it was just a concept car to start
Ghia-Cadillac cooperation), she wanted it so badly that her husband bought it for
her (I wish I had such a wonderful and rich husband!). The end of the story?
Ghia didn’t manage to work with Cadillac and very soon Rita divorced Ali, but in
the end she had her unique car (only one was ever made!). It will be always
remembered as Rita’s Cadillac.
Cord Beverly 812
Cord
Beverly 812 is the first American front-wheel drive car with independent front
suspension. What’s more, it has stupefyingly awesome exterior, hidden lights (always
cool) and supercharged engine with 190 hp. Somehow I’m not surprised that Cord
company doesn’t exist anymore. It was killed by reliability problems, including
slipping out of gear and vapor lock. But come on, why would someone care about
it if they have such a piece of automotive art on the driveway?! Life's too short to even care about such unimportnat things as reliability!
Kanye West, Mercy and Lamborghini
Originally
titled “Lamborghini, Murci”, “Mercy” this is the first single from the upcoming
G.O.O.D Music album by Kanye West. Not great, but a nice song. Well, I think
you’ll agree that the more music Kanye gives us, the better but we’re here
because of the car. It’s kind of obvious that Lamborghini plays a role in the
video but it’s surprising that it’s not Murcielago or even Mercylago. Instead
there is Gallardo lurking in the back. Kanye, darling, you’re great artist but it seems you’re pathetic when it comes to cars. But we still love
you.
